“I am confident in our Victory, I believe in the 46th District!â€
When launched this campaign, I visited district 46. I kept hearing the same stories of fear, frustration, and disappointment. Canarsie is no longer the same. The community is in mourning, struggling with the pain of continued violence and broken promises. Despite changing leadership, hoping for positive change, the new leader has followed the same path as the previous one, dismissing the groundwork we prepared. The young generation is witnessing more and more violence each day—they can’t even safely go to playgrounds. Where is the accountability in local politics? We need stronger policies to enforce safety and protection in our parks and streets. If you walk through Canarsie, the urgency of this issue is impossible to ignore. It’s time to take responsibility and correct these mistakes for the sake of our children and the future of our community.
A Vision for a Safer Canarsie: Protecting Our Children, Restoring Our Community
Imagine a Canarsie where every playground is bustling with joy, every street feels secure, and every resident walks with confidence knowing their community has their back. This is a Canarsie that prioritizes the safety of its youngest generation—a community where violence has no place and protection is more than a promise; it’s a way of life.
This vision begins with holding local leaders accountable for real, measurable change. It includes implementing stronger policies to ensure safe parks, installing better lighting and surveillance in high-risk areas, and fostering partnerships between law enforcement and community organizations. It means investing in youth programs that give kids a safe space to grow, play, and thrive.
The time for action is now. As you walk through Canarsie, let the urgency fuel a commitment to correcting past mistakes and creating a future where every child feels protected. Together, we will rebuild trust, restore peace, and create a safer Canarsie for generations to come.
